Fiberglass silo

The plastic silo is made of glassfibre-reinforced polyester mounted on a steel support frame embedded in the bottom. The silo stands on a substructure of galvanised steel to which the embedded steel frame is attached. The volume can vary from about 5 – 150 cubic meters, the diameter is between 2000-4000 mm. The interior surface of the silo is smooth to prevent adherence. The wall also has an extraordinarily good insulation capacity that prevents condensation at great temperature-variations, about 20 times more so than steel. The sheath of the silo can be extended at the point of connection between silo and cone, to continue down to ground level and be equipped with a door. The cone can be equipped with different unloading devices, but usually the smooth wall enables emptying without adhering. The sheath of the silo can be supplied with transparent plastic for ocular control of the level of product in the silo. Catwalk, manhole and filter can be mounted on the top if needed. The silo is easily erected at the delivery site with use of a crane.
